Fountain of Youth
So during my parents' visit this past month, I took some time off from work to drive them to upstate New York.
We visited Niagara Falls, the Corning Museum of Glass, looked at wineries in the Finger Lakes region and stopped in the charming town of Ithaca.
Somebody I know suggested that we visit Taughannock State Park, which has one of the highest waterfalls east of the Rocky Mountains.
With great anticipation, my parents and I drove up to the park and hiked the three-quarters of a mile to the falls. By the time we had reached the end, we were tired, sweaty, and excited about finally seeing it.
Ok, so before I go any further, make sure you click here to see what we were expecting.
This is what we actually saw (photo taken by me).
It was like somebody had left the faucet dripping. One of the park rangers told us there had been a drought.
Oh, well. I'll try again next year. Maybe after Katrina has made her way this far North?
