The Muck and Mire of Politics
This is an emotional post for me.
Yesterday I voted.
I meant to vote in the morning, but I overslept, and then had to do the long commute to and from work.
Then I had to work late, and by the time I got to the public school where I vote, it was half an hour until it closed. I was one of the last people to vote.
But I did it!
Then I did my usual Election Day ritual - I went home and had a glass of wine and watched my DVD of Iron Jawed Angels.
By the end, I was bawling, as I always end up when I watch this movie.
If you don't understand why, watch the movie! Hilary Swank gives an unbelievable performance.
After you've seen it, you'll understand why I vote. Why we should all vote.
I'm getting emotional just thinking about it again.
