The Great Melting Pot
Thanks to everyone for your well wishes. Yeah, my car is pretty effed up. It's in the shop getting new spark plugs, fuel injectors, oxygen sensors and a catalytic converter. It's in pretty bad shape.
I've been begging coworkers for rides to the train station since last week. Boooooooo.
This weekend the Fiance took me out to dinner to get my mind off the car issues. We went to this locally owned place known for homey comfort food.
I ordered some side dishes on the menu that looked yummy: "Mother's Baked Beans" and "Granny's Coleslaw."
I asked our waiter whether he recommended them, and whether they were worth the hype.
"Oh yes!" he exclaimed. "They're both really fantastic dishes!"
"Who's mother and grandmother made these dishes? The owner's" I asked.
"Well," he replied, lowering his voice and gesturing toward the kitchen. "It's actually Pedro's baked beans and Juan's coleslaw...but they're delicious nonetheless!!" #
