Focusing on the Important Things
Last week I met with a really senior partner to go over a new project.
I was pretty nervous about the meeting, even though I'd heard through the grapevine that he's a really nice guy.
It was just the two of us, in a large conference room. After spending 10 minutes summarizing for him my thoughts on the project, I stopped and waited for him to say something.
He didn't say anything for a few moments.
Finally, he leaned forward, and said, "Wow, that's an enormous diamond on your engagement ring! I can't stop looking at it; it's blinding me. How many carats is that?"
I knew that I was going to like this guy. #
