I Heart NY

Tonight I had one of those, "Wow, I'm so glad I moved to New York" moments.

I was listening to the NY State gubernatorial debate tonight on the radio. I was stuck at work late, so the radio was my only option while working.

Seriously, it was friggin' hilarious. And this was just with the audio portion, no visual.

My favorite candidates were Eliot Spitzer's former madam, and the guy from the "The Rent is Too Damn High Party" Seriously. Actual candidate.

Here's his website. He even wrote a catchy jingle. Be forewarned - it sticks in your head.

To be honest and politically INCORRECT, the rent is NYC is NOT too damn high. It is what it is because of supply and demand. There are places close to Manhattan where rents are affordable but people insist on staying on the island.

I lived in Queens for 11 years and rent there was reasonable. But 90% of the people who complained about the high rent would NEVER live in Queens.

THIRTYSOMETHING (!!) year old Asian American New Yorker, lawyer, amateur musician, curious girl taking a bite out of the Big Apple. Don't mess with me - I'm short and I look demure, but I carry a big purse. And I've just embarked on the journey of married life in Manhattan.
