Cost of Living
The Husband had a skin rash last week, due to some sort of allergic reaction.
We had trouble finding a dermatologist who would see him on short notice. Apparently all dermatologists work 10-3 each day and spend Fridays in the Hamptons. And of those, more than half do only cosmetic derm - Botox, facelifts, etc.
A friend got a friend to see him. She's a dermatologist to the stars on Park Avenue.
10 minute consultation = $450 (payable immediately since she doesn't take insurance).
Man, I went into the wrong business.

I've gone to Dr Ainspan in the past. His office is ~ 16th st and 2nd ave, he takes insurance, and the wait is generally not to bad, even in emergency cases.
me too. wonder if its too late to retrain.
Ouch! That's equal to a round trip ticket to Barcelona from NYC in spring.
well I'm glad it wasn't something bad I'd hate to think that that much money brought really bad news.
And were y'all told to take some benadryl?
Was your husband cured by the medicines or by the shock of her fees ?
