Don't Cry For Me

And we're back!

It was a really wonderful trip, and a much-needed escape from the frigid weather in the Big Apple.

So we visited a very popular tourist destination in the southern hemisphere. A country known for its red meat, its red wine and its tango!

To illustrate my trip, gentle readers, I'll take you through a tour of the steaks I ate during the course of my visit.

Here's steak #1, consumed as a late lunch the day we arrived:

And steak #2, eaten for lunch at an Estancia (note it was a much bigger steak before I ate most of it and then decided to take the photo):

And steak #3, consumed at a world-famous steakhouse, medium rare, or jugoso, as I ordered it:

And steak #4, which was really 3 different cuts, at another wonderful steakhouse on our last day:

Now if everyone will excuse me, I need to go and eat some salad and try to let my body finish digesting all of these meats.

South of the Border

The Husband and I are getting away for a much-needed vacation for the next 10 days.

I'll keep the exact destination a secret, except to tell you that we're going south. Far south, in fact. South of the equator, where it's summer!

Woo hoo! I can't wait! It will be 90 degrees.

We'll go through the snow to the airport bundled in our coats, then get on the plane, peel off our coats, get off the plane and walk around in our t-shirts and shorts. Yayy!!

I'll post (with photos) when I get back.

See y'all soon!

New Year's Diet Resolutions

Yesterday one of the doormen in our building asked the Husband whether I'm pregnant.

"Um..no," answered the Husband.

So uh, yeah. Anybody want to go running in Central Park with me?

Old as the Hills!

Happy 2009, everyone!

I'm really excited about 2009. 2008 was a good year for me - I got married, left my horrible old job and started a nice new one, and got to spend the entire month of July in Europe. Not bad.

To ring in the New Year, the Husband and I celebrated the way we usually do.

We had a couple of friends over and watched the ball drop in Times Square, less than 30 blocks south of where we live.

We ordered food delivery, drank champagne and cheap wine, and played Scattergories.

We expressed admiration for Dick Clark:

In short, we behaved the way that old, lame married people do on New Year's Eve.

This year, we were graced with the presence of one of my coolest, hippest blog friends.

That alone elevated our evening to almost-cool-party status!

THIRTYSOMETHING (!!) year old Asian American New Yorker, lawyer, amateur musician, curious girl taking a bite out of the Big Apple. Don't mess with me - I'm short and I look demure, but I carry a big purse. And I've just embarked on the journey of married life in Manhattan.
